I often read the cliche about vending machines as a reflection of the Japanese and value of convenience and instant gratification. I won't take credit for coming up with it but I will agree. this line of machines has always been here! I remember when i was 19, i took a photo of the line of machines, at night......
where you used to live in nagai, you should see an egg machine. it's refilled every morning with fresh eggs. next time you need eggs, go for a drive....

i remember seeing the machine next to a little hut with a big dump truck parked next to it, in the middle of nowhere. it was all flat and i think it was at the entrance of where the base used to be. it was a little hard to figure what was where and all. not much help, huh?!
also, ginza has/had one with pantyhose and neckties!
